A group of friends and businessmen decided to bet on the dream of being business developers. One given afternoon, at the home of one of the future partners, a manifesto was signed (in handwriting) that would give life to what is today “Centro Logístico y de Negocios del Caribe (Central SAS)”, where it was conceived, structured and launched Parque Central Free trade Zone project.
The existence of a geographic area as a Permanent Free Trade Zone called Parque Central is declared and the development of the first stage of this park began.
In November 2012, operations formally began at Parque Central Zona Franca.
On May 14, 2014, through Resolution 003596 of 2014, issued by DIAN, the expansion of the geographic area of the free zone was authorized.
After the development of the second stage of Parque Central Free Trade Zone, the increase in terms of operations, qualified users, developed sectors, new clusters, Special Free Trade Zones operated and expansion of the Appolo software, led to consolidation of Parque Central as one of the most important competitors in the free trade zone sector in Colombia.
Today, after 10 years of its declaration, Parque Central Free Trade Zone is consolidated as a Logistics and Industrial Center that provides sources of competitive advantage to the 33 companies installed in the park, thanks to its proximity to the most important port area of Colombia, for its excellent urban and service infrastructure, for its specialized staff and for the tax, customs and foreign trade incentives provided by the free trade zone normativity.
